Can I Do CrossFit?

Due to CrossFit`s universal scalability, it is possible for any committed individual, regardless of experience or age, to lose weight, build muscle and increase mobility. At CrossFit Estes Park, athletes currently range from the age of five to 74. The needs of an Olympic athlete and that of a grandmother differ by degree, not kind. One is looking for functional dominance the other for functional competence. The only difference is the scale of the load and the intensity of the exercise.

CrossFit games

CrossFit Estes Park would like to invite the Estes Valley community to come witness CrossFit for themselves, free of charge. They will hold an event, that will mimic on a local level, the 2010 CrossFit Games which recently occurred in Carson, California. Similar to the CrossFit Games in Carson, the competitors in the ‘Estes Park CrossFit Games` will be required to complete several workouts during the day in their pursuit of

victory. Grandparents, stay-at-home moms, retirees, students, business owners and even a sky diver will battle it out for the most reps, heaviest lifts and the faster times. Competitors will receive little or no preview of the workouts prior to Game Day.

The CrossFit Estes Park Games will be held Aug. 7 at the Estes Park High School track. Competitors will meet at 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m., and 3 p.m. to compete in three separate events. They will participate according to gender and capacity divisions. There will be prizes awarded to first place per division and overall. Also, a portion of the proceeds will go to supporting the gym`s CrossFit Kids program, by providing scholarships to help promote healthy lifestyles at an early age.
